Cameron Highlands, 1892 meters above sea level, situated in the state of Pahang was first discovered in 1885 by the British during their colonial rule of the then Federated States of Malaysia. It was a weekend retreat for them escaping the heat in the lowlands. Today it is where the unhurried pace of life and holiday ideas unfold into a myriad of exciting discoveries, jungle trekking, tranquil lakes, gurgling streams, captivating waterfalls, tea plantations, vegetable and fruit gardens, flower nurseries, handicraft center and traditions charm you into a soothing holiday.

Day 01 Kuala Lumpur - Cameron Highlands
Depart Kuala Lumpur in the early morning for Tanah Rata, one of the three districts in Cameron Highlands where there is a concentration of shops and restaurants. Begin the 1,530 m. ascent at Tapah through mountain roads. Enroute, see highland scenery, waterfalls, streams and giant tree ferns. Occasionally, there will be sightings of aborigines out on hunting trips armed with blow pipes and poisoned darts. Arrive Cameron Highlands in the early afternoon.

Day 02 Cameron Highlands
Morning visit to the fruit and vegetable farms, flower garden, tea plantation and an agricultural station. Rest of the day is free, to explore this resort area or simply be rejuvenated by the fresh cool air. There is also a 18 hole golf course. A light sweater is recommended for evenings.

130 Million Old National Park/Tamara Negara

Malaysia’s National Park, known as ‘Taman Negara’ in the local language, is situated in the Malaysian Peninsular. The Park covers as area of 4343 square km (1677 sq miles) of natural, virgin jungle. The jungle comprises most of the Park and is 130 million years old, reputed to be one of the oldest in the world.

Day 01: Kuala Lumpur – Taman Negara

This four day adventure begins at Kuala Lumpur where you travel by road for the rural town of Jerantut via the Genting Sempah Mountain Pass. At Jerantut, stop for lunch and a short rest before proceeding to the River Bank at Kuala Tembeling. From here, travel by outboard motor canoes to Kuala Tahan where the Park Headquarters is situated. The 3-hour upriver trip is fascinating, the jungle vegetation along the banks of the river becoming dense. Arrive at Kuala Tahan in the late afternoon. The evening is at leisure.

Days 02 & 03: Taman Negara
The day-to-day itinerary cannot be well defined because itinerary has a tendency to very depending on participating levels within the Park and facilities available at the given time.

The following activities however may be included :-


Motorised canoe up the Tahan River tributary upstream to the cataracts pf Lata Berkoh, where there is excellent fishing nearby. Jungle trek to Teresik Hill from where you can view Mount Tahan, the highest mountain in Peninsular Malaysia at 2178 meter (7186 ft.).

During the trek, your guide will give basic instructions on the fundamentals of jungle survival, jungle ecology, flora identification etc. Return trek on a different trail passing Lubok Simpon water hole for a swim and rest. Gua Telings or ‘Bat Cave’ about 40 minute walk via a cut trail through dense jungle from the fork of the Tembeling and Tahan rivers.

The cave is not only the daylight home for thousands of fruit bats, but also contains some fascinating snake fossils found on the walls of the cave.

Day 04: Taman Negara – Kuala Lumpur
After breakfast, return to Kuala Tembeling by boat then by car to Kuala Lumpur.

BATU CAVES CITY TOUR

This tour covers some amazing sights in the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur. 

First up are the famous Batu Caves - a massive limestone outcrop, whose interiors house a Hindu shrine lined with different deities. The shrine itself is located deep inside the high caverns which take 272 steps to reach. 

Site of a Hindu temple and shrine, Batu Caves attracts thousands of worshippers and tourists, especially during the annual Hindu festival, Thaipusam. 

Next is the Orang Asli Museum. It's a showcase of the history, customs and traditions of the indigenous inhabitants of the land.

On the way back, drive past typical Malay villages.
